From the edge of Bodmin Moor
About Moorland Distillery.
We are a family-owned, small-batch distillery established in 2016 and located on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Our vision was to produce quality beverages made from pure ingredients, allowing them time to mature into truly exceptional products.
Our story
Using Unspoilt Natural Resources to Create a Quality Product
We started by exploring a range of base ingredients that could be used to produce an outstanding Cornish brandy alongside a refreshing Cornish Apple Schnapps.
Extensive research led us to understand that some of the best brandies are produced in copper pot stills, as they retain more of the original aromas and flavours. We found and purchased a 150 litre copper pot still, completed the necessary legal requirements, and production began.
Made slowly, made properly.
Field Note

Chapter 04
Time in Oak
The young brandy is transferred into oak barrels, sealed with beeswax and left to mature. Now we wait.
The process
We Start with the Very Best Natural Raw Ingredients
Apple juice is fermented into apple wine using selected yeasts, a process common with all true brandies. These low wines are then transferred to our copper still and gently heated to extract the apple wine spirit.
Our master distiller takes the exact cuts from the distilled alcohol to make our Apple Brandy. The young brandy is then transferred into oak barrels, sealed with beeswax and left to mature. Now we wait.
